Occurred on July 9, 2018 / Bribie Island, Queensland, Australia
Info from Licensor: "My family and I were going down Ocean Beach on Bribie Island when we saw the seal. We got all of our kids out of the car to have a look. It just floated along on its side doing nothing, so we assumed it was injured and dying. We rang up a wildlife organization to come and check on the poor seal and they made arrangements to come and have a look at it. We were waiting on the beach with our sad children for about 20 minutes and it just became so full of life and was surfing, diving, rolling and having a good old time. The kids and I were so relieved that it was okay and then it decided to come ashore and be all cute. The end result was good, it’s alive and well and now we know seals like to rest on their sides in the water. If we didn’t wait for the wildlife rescue we wouldn’t have seen him come up on the beach for a scratch and stretch."
