Info from Licensor: "Dollar General is the highest point in Hernando Beach. Many people park their vehicles there in the event of possible storms and flooding. Hurricane Idalia passed our coast early in the morning and I was waking up roughly every hour watching for storm surge. At approximately 6 AM I decided to stay up because the water was getting close to my determined exit height. At 6:15 I woke my wife and son up and said its time to go or we're gonna be stuck here. The water was nearly to the floorboards on our vehicles and we pushed through and barely escaped. We arrived at Dollar General at 6:30 to wait it out until the water subsided. Nearly 3 hours later and about 2 more feet of tide surge, I was on my phone talking to a friend who also lived in the area and said, 'I need to hang up and get a video, I hear an airboat coming!' It was the most fun I had that morning."
