Occurred on February 2, 2019 / Fort Dodge, Iowa, USA
Info from Licensor: "This accident happened on Lizard Creek outside of Fort Dodge, Iowa. We were with a group of 40+ units but I was alone between groups when it happened so no one saw it. I came around a very icy corner and slid out and hit a boulder that pushed me into thin ice breaking me into a hole of water instantly up to my chest. Some guys showed up and gave me a ride back to my truck so I could warm up. The only way to remove the unit from where it was, was to call Mid Iowa Towing to bring their Rotator Boom Truck out to hoist it above the bridge. The unit was brand new with 30 miles and 5 hours on it. I want to thank them for showing up with a complete change of clothing for me to get out of the freezing wet clothes I was in. Also, thank you to the few guys that tried to recover the machine before deciding a tow truck was the only option."
