Info from Licensor: The road is a 60mph one-way connecting the local beauty spot 'Goyt Valley' with the 'Cat and Fiddle' (One of the UK's most dangerous roads). The car is an imported Mazda MX5. The cyclist had passed 2 no entry signs and continued down the hill on the wrong side of the road. I estimate I was traveling about 30mph around the bend, covering the brake and at a near stop at the time of impact. The Cyclist's estimated speed was around 40mph.
The cyclist stood up immediately after the impact and walked around the car before sitting down at the side of the road. We called the Ambulance due to his lower back pain and confusion set in shortly after. I believe he went into a state of shock after the adrenaline wore off. I gave him my fleece to keep warm and loaded his bicycle into the passenger seat of my car so he'd be able to retrieve it later as his friend had no way of taking it back for him. Amazingly, no bones were broken, and the cyclist was discharged from hospital 6 hours later.
